1. Export the Full Punch Record for the Audit Period
Prerequisites
- At least one full pay period of live punch data in the new system

Pull every punch record for the pay period from the time clock system's admin export. Include auto-corrections, missed punches, manager edits, offline syncs, and any flagged events. Do not use a summary report or a dashboard view. You need the raw, line-level data to audit accurately.

A system that passes all three metrics is confirmed as payroll-ready for the current configuration and team size. A system that fails on any metric has a specific, identifiable gap that needs to be addressed before the next pay period.
Do not treat a passing score as a reason to stop auditing. Configuration drift, new job sites, seasonal employee changes, and evolving pay rules degrade accuracy over time. Schedule quarterly re-audits to catch drift before it compounds into payroll disputes or compliance exposure.
